What is the treatment like?

Treatments can feel similar to a rubber band snapping against skin.  The treatment is tolerated well with little to no discomfort. 

What can I expect following the treatment?

Typically, you can return to your normal activities immediately following the treatment.  Redness may be expected following the treatment, however it will resolve within a few days.  Treated pigmentation and brown spots will darken following the treatment and slough off within 7 to 14 days.

How does the Pico Genesis treatment work?

Everyone's skin contains a substance called melanin.  It's what gives our skin its color.  When melanin occurs in high concentrations, it can result in brown spots and uneven skin tone.  PICO Genesis uses laser light to selectively shatter unwanted pigmentation and remodel the upper layer of the skin to return balance + clearance + radiance to your skin.

What can I expect during a PICO Genesis treatment?

As the laser energy is applied, you'll feel a sensation that patients often compared to an electric rain sensation.  Most patients do not find the treatment uncomfortable, but if you do, your treatment provider may apply a topical anesthetic.  Immediately after your treatment, you may apply cold air or an ice pack for a short time.  You should keep the treated area out of the sun and/or apply sunscreen for protection.

Is there any down time associated with the treatment?

Although you may experience mold redness and swelling for a few hours following the treatment, you can expect to return to your regular activities immediately following the treatment.

What is Pico FX? 

PICO FX is a skin revitalization treatment designed to address skin imperfections and combat the signs of aging.  From texture concerns to acne scarring, PICO FX offers a safe and effective treatment to restore your skin's youthful appearance.

How does the treatment work?

PICO FX delivers ultra-short fractionated laser energy to create small, gentle micro-wounds in the upper layers of the skin to induce collagen stimulation and remodeling.  With fractionated energy, the majority of the skin remains unharmed, resulting in faster healing time.  With PICO FX, results can be achieved with a higher safety margin and less downtime than traditional fractional resurfacing treatments.

What can I expect during a treatment?

What conditions does Excel V treat?

Excel V has been shown effective at treating a number of conditions, including:

• Rosacea
• Telangiectasias (broken blood vessels)

• Cherry angiomas
• Benign pigmented (brown) skin lesions

Excel V treats mild and severe forms of these conditions. The system may also have a cosmetic benefit for patients who have skin lesions or scars from past injuries or surgeries.

Excel V, developed by Cutera, is a new laser system providing treatment for a variety of vascular skin conditions. Many skin conditions manifest in the form of broken or abnormal blood vessels in the skin, such is the case with rosacea, in which the facial blood vessels dilate excessively causing redness and flushing. Excel V treats these conditions by administering a unique high power green laser that is absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The laser heats the abnormal vessels until they are removed. At the end of treatment, the patient’s natural skin tone and color are restored.

After an initial consultation with the patient, the provider determines if treatment with the Excel V is appropriate. Unlike other procedures, injections or topical anesthesia are not required throughout the duration of the 15 – 30 minute procedure. Depending on the condition, the provider places the Excel V hand piece over the affected areas of the skin until the abnormal vessels diminish. To minimize discomfort and protect the patient’s skin, the Excel V uses a proprietary cooling mechanism.

All skin types identified in the Fitzpatrick skin type classification can be treated with the Excel V system. This classification denotes 6 different skin types, ranging from very light (type I) to very dark (type VI). The 532nm wavelength is ideal for treating skin types I – IV and the 1064nm mode can be used on all skin types I - VI.

The number of sessions depends on various parameters, including the size, thickness and color of the vascular lesion. Superficial vascular lesions such as small telangiectasia and diffused redness are easiest to treat; some patients might see significant improvement after just one treatment.

Laser Genesis is a form of a non-ablative Nd:YAG laser that uses heat to kill bacteria on and under the skin, preventing future acne outbreaks. The heat also penetrates deep enough into the skin, to stimulate the natural production of collagen, which shrinks pores, evens skin tones, and increases the speed of cell turn over.

Laser Genesis is not painful, but most clients report feeling a warm tingling during the treatment. Many find the treatment rather soothing.

• Results and benefits are seen over time, with optimal results being seen around the six month period.
• Laser Genesis can provide permanent results when being used to treat scars, but when treating pigment issues, such as rosacea, follow up treatments are recommended every 12 months.

 Lutronic Ultra™ is a low-downtime laser that resurfaces the skin, giving it a brighter tone and improved texture.  Treatments can be customized for your particular needs and schedule. 

What to expect from Lutronic Ultra:

• Your provider may apply numbing cream prior to your treatment.
• Patients describe the Ultra treatment as a warm, tingling sensation, which may vary.  The treatment time may range from 5-20 minutes or longer.
• Immediately following the treatment, you will notice some redness which will lessen over the next day or so.
• The following 5-7 days, your skin will have a dry, sandpaper-like texture.  This is normal and will resolve as your skin exfoliates, revealing fresher, clearer skin.

What is it?

Is it right for me?

 LUMENIS® CO2 laser procedures are not suitable for everyone, for example patients who have taken Accutane (Isotretinoin) for the past 6-12 months, or had a history of keloid formation.  Risks may include change of pigmentation, infection, redness, textural changes or scarring.  

When will I see results?

The main advantage of  DeepFx™/ActiveFX™ is that results are visible after one single treatment.  As your skin heals following the treatment, you will begin to notice an improvement in wrinkles, fine lines, tone and texture.  Typically you should expect to continue to see improvement for up to 18 months following the procedure.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and may be slightly red and swollen, depending on your customized treatment settings.  Most patients are able to resume their daily activities within a week.  To support you in the healing process, a daily skincare routine will be prescribed.

Isolaz™ is a FDA-cleared treatment for mild to moderate acne.  It combines a vacuum, broadband light, and topical skincare products to clear clogged pores and reduce blemishes. Although the face is the most common treatment area, Isolaz can also be used on your back and chest. It’s also safe for all skin tones and types. 

It works best as a series of treatments. Every patient will have a personalized schedule, but you can expect to need four to five sessions, one to three weeks apart.
Your provider will start by cleansing your skin and giving you a pair of goggles to protect your eyes. Then they’ll direct the vacuum tip of the device over the treatment area. You’ll feel gentle suction and warmth as it removes dead skin cells, dirt, and oil from your pores. While the device suctions, it simultaneously emits a broadband pulsed light which kills acne-causing bacteria. After the area is completely treated, the vacuum clears and opens pores for maximum product penetration.

There’s no downtime after Isolaz™, though your skin may look red.
